Suet Yee graduated from a six-year full time course at the Kwong Tung Opera Institute. In 1996 she was a member of the cultural exchange troupe representing China to perform in malaysia. She came to Singapore in 1997 to work as an instructor with the Chinese Opera Institute. Now she is with the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts as an opera teacher in the School of Performing Arts. In 1999, she played the lead role in the Cantonese adaptation of the famous Italian opera 'Turandot'.
