Lily is the chairman of the Kolam Ayer Community Club's Chinese Cultural Group. She is also the leader of the cantonese opera group there. Despite her heavy workload she is actively involved in cantonese opera - be it performance, sponsorship, planning or fund-raising. Under the tutelage of Leong Yew Onn,  a well-known cantonese opera artiste in China, her opera skills and singing have improved  significantly. She has also benefited from her performances with celebrated cantonese opera artistes from China.
